Wired for Sound Pro disapointement

HIya folks.

My apologies right away if posted in a wrong group (or sub-group), I’m
not even sure if this will get crossposted, but I am not in good humor
after spending $60+ for the above prg. and knowing that thr programmers
read these group sometimes, I like to let him know what happening to me,
and all you Windowers so you can make the choice of buying this prg or
not with knowing what happened to me (and seeing the replies to this
post).

Aaron, I have nothing against you, you really did a good program, BUT
Aristosoft tech support have gotten me mad! (Twice in one day).

Here I am, trying to set up WFS on my systems, when the trouble starts.

First, some advertised event don’t get sounds (but I discovered why and
corrected it, as example Accessories File Open as OPEN ONLY as it’s
title in the window…). But when I called the rep didn’t know and seems
to NOT CARE AT ALL what was going on. Just point me to pages in the
manuel (witch is pretty slim in explanations btw). I admit that the
changes to win3.1 were probably unkowned when WFSP went out, but still
tha tech/rep SHOULD have knowned and point me in the right direction. So it
took me a few hours to deduce the obvious (ain’t it what is right in
front of you the hardest to find…).

Secondly and this got me real mad is TRYING to add sound. I went trough
the steps, but in the book they mention NON EXISTANT directory scroll
box, so I type where I have a bunch of sound files on my D drive.
Out of the 47 files of *.wav, *.au, *.snd, *.sou, only 5 showed up!
NOw I make the second call, get the same rep that mumble is name (Dummy
that I am I forget to ask) and the only thing he tells me is copy them
to the wfsound\sounds directory. Trouble is, WFS DON’T want to CHECK
it’s own sound directory. Try copying some files of every format to a
floppy, and same story, only the SOU file gets showned to be added.
And me who have some nice that would be great for some events!

If any of you went throught these same troubles (or OTHERS), could you
let me know and what is the solutions?

And if this ever get to the eyes of the bosses of Aristosoft, I HOPE
that some kind of patch or FREE upgrade is on the way, ’cause you have a
disapointed customer that certainly WONT RECOMMEND bying prgs. from
them.

Sorry for having taking some bandwith, and for all my grammar error…
I’m french and I don’t have a spell checker for this editor…

See You around the ‘Net!!

I will second the opinion that the program is less than ideal and
the service sucks. The talking clock doesn’t. They have been working
on a fix for over a month, when I finally got them to send me an
update, I couldn’t even read the diskette (two different PCs tried).
They also left out a file for the talking system monitor
("over100megabytes.snd"). When I asked if it would be on the
update disk (which I can’t read anyway), they said, "No. Just

    >record your own version<."

If you haven’t bought it yet, don’t waste your money. Another thing,
why couldn’t they do it in .wav format to at least be MPC compatible.
